  XINET, INC.
Director of Advertising
January, 1995–November, 2005

Providing marketing leadership, strategy and execution for this high-tech software company, I helped it grow from an unknown California start-up to a multinational leader in digital asset management and networking solutions. Working directly with the CEO, I gave Xinet a professional market presence, helping to win accounts with some of the most recognizable brands in the world, such as Ogilvy & Mather, McCann Erickson, Macy’s, Time, Inc., and Sports Illustrated. I orchestrated an annual $500,000 international advertising and brand recognition program that brought in a worldwide customer base and contributed to a six-fold increase in revenues in successive years. As the marketplace drifted from print to the Web, I gave the company its on-line presence that eventually provided the single most-trackable number of leads. As the founding member of the marketing team, I defined and shaped nearly every aspect of the Xinet marketing program:

Webmaster: Responsible for the design, layout, management, testing and monitoring of the company Web site, including three unique satellite sites for customers and resellers.

Director of Advertising: Researched, wrote, designed, and placed print and Web advertising. Managed an annual budget of $500,000 with media buying for over 15 domestic magazines and 20 international publications in 8 countries, giving Xinet a worldwide market presence.

Graphic Designer: Created and managed marketing collateral including advertising, brochures, flyers, posters, newsletters, invitations, press packs, sell sheets, folders, presentations, motion graphics (Web advertising), logos, and icons. Ultimately responsible for layout, illustration, photography, and print production.

Marketing Manager: Working with Xinet’s strategic partners I helped define market segments, develop marketing strategies, and identify the optimal media to reach each segment of Xinet’s target audience. Managed in-house and contract designers, photographers, and videographers.

Prepress Production: Utilized prepress and print production skills, including preflighting, proofing and press checks.

Print Buyer: Coordinated bidding and scheduling of printed material with budgets of up to $350,000 annually, providing detailed print specifications to printers and prepress departments.

Multimedia Artist: Developed Flash, Keynote, PowerPoint and other multimedia presentations.
